White Chocolate & Caramel Apples
This fall dessert is so much fun to make with your kids: who knew that caramel apples didn’t have to involve a hot stove top? Moreover, we decided to cut the apples into halves, for easier presentation and decoration.
50 individually-wrapped caramel candies
1 cup white chocolate chips
4 tbsps chopped peanuts
Yields: 4 apple treats
How To Make:
Start by placing a piece of parchment on a cookie sheet – set aside.
Unwrap each of your caramel candies (Your kids will love helping out with this) and put in a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave for one minute at a time, for up to about 3 minutes.
Make sure it doesn’t overheat.
Stir each time you take it out of the microwave.
It’s ready when it falls off the spoon and is completely melted.
Cut your apples in half.
Place the flat side down on your cookie sheet.
With a spoon, take a large dollop of caramel and spread on an apple half.
Repeat for the rest.
Place in the refrigerator for a quick chill.
While the apples chill, microwave your white chocolate in a small, microwave-safe bowl for about a minute.
Take out your apples and drizzle white chocolate on top of them.
Garnish with chopped peanuts.
