Helping my daughter with letter recognition started out very boring. I would show her flash cards, she would recite the letter, and we’d move on to the next letter. 26 uppercase and 26 lowercase. It was boring for me and it was boring for her. So I took to finding better ideas, more fun ways to help her learn. I realized that if the themes were fun, the activities were different from one another, and they were more on the ‘quick’ side, she loved them. This activity is all of those things. If your child is like mine, they will love this Squirrel and Nut ABC Matching Game Free Printables.

For single use, print the sheets and let your child have one at a time.
What I do is go down the lists on each side and have my daughter verbally acknowledge each letter. Next she will find the matches, matching from the first list to the second.

There are four letters on each page, which is perfect for even the earliest of beginning stages of letter recognition.

This set can also be laminated to use as a center, morning work tub, or at home to use over and over. If laminated, children can use dry erase markers to connect the matches. This could also be done with pieces of string or yarn.
