Bugs! What kid doesn’t love bugs? My daughter was obsessed with Roly poly bugs. Everywhere we went that had things to turn over–pots, chairs, bark–she was there. Digging and looking for her little friends. Now my boys are obsessed with them. This is a great free counting activity that you can do at home or in your classroom!
Bug themed free counting activity
That’s why every year, I always do a bug theme of some sort. The popularity is overwhelming. Cute and creepy all at the same time. What’s not to love?
This week’s freebie is ladybugs that are three dimensional! Super fun, right?
You’ll first need to print off the ladybugs onto sturdy paper. You can do that here: Ladybug Counting
Then cut out the ladybug with the lines on them. This is great fine motor practice for those little hands!
Next, use a marker and write any number that your child needs to work on.
You can use this for homeschool for your elementary-aged kids too! How?
For my six year old, I did subtraction facts. You can even do uppercase and lowercase letters–the possibilities are endless.
Have your child recognize the number on the ladybug and add that many dots to the ladybug circle you cut out.
Then fold along the white lines.
Add glue to the fold.
And place on to the correct flat bug!
