1. Bears in a Cave {fine motor, number recognition} Place the correct number of bears “in” the cave after recognizing the number on the card.

2. Going on a Bear Hunt {letter recognition, early reading skills} Read the book, Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen

3. Where’s the Bear {math readiness} Discuss the words on the cards and what the bear is doing. EX: the bear is UNDER the table. Then have your child place their bear where the bear in the picture is such as under a table. Toddler and Preschool theme Dragon Week  www.misformonster.com

  1. Guard the Castle{letter recognition} Match the correct dragon to letters on the castle page. Decorate the cover page with their own castle scene. Tie the ribbons through the pages. Tie them loosely so your child can flip through the book easily.

  1. Abstract Penguins {shape recognition, color recognition} Abstract art allows children to use their imagination when creating. Let them use the enclosed shapes to create two different penguins. Talk about the colors used. (See above for inspiration.)

2. Penguin Waddle {gross motor skills} Blow up the ball and have your child place between their legs and try to walk. Show them that they waddle like a penguin!

3. Feed the Penguins {number recognition} Feed the fish to the penguins by counting out the number of fish written on the penguins belly.

1. Build a Snowman {number recognition, fine motor} Roll the dice and count the dots. Look on the paper and see what to add to your snowman. Keep rolling until you have added all the snowman’s items.

2. Snowman Hats {letter recognition} Match the letter on the snowman head to the letter on the hat.

3. 5 Little Snowman Song {early reading skills} Glue the snowmen on the popsicle sticks then sing the 5 Little Snowmen Song.
