Summer can get really hot, especially when you are engaged in lots of outdoor activities, yard or garden chores, or even just laying out by the pool. Sometimes your body needs a little help keeping cool on those hot, summer days. Ready for a tasty and refreshing treat? Try our fabulous “Flamingo Strawberry Lemonade Slushie”! This mouth-watering refreshment is cool and delicious as well as super fun and easy to make! Get the kids involved in helping you create this delightfully fun Flamingo Strawberry Lemonade Slushie!
4 tablespoons pink colored sugar (optional)
2 cups (8 ounces) frozen unsweetened strawberries
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 cups (8 ounces) frozen lemonade (or lemonade juice boxes)
4-8 fresh strawberries
2 cups ice cubes
*4 straws (steps 2 and 4))
*Printer and paper (step 2)
  1. Place sugar in a small shallow dish. Wet rims of glasses or cups with wet paper towel; dip into sugar. Places glasses/cups upright to dry.
  2. Print and cut out flamingo straw decorations. Cut slits on dotted lines to insert straw into near top of straw.
  3. Combine frozen strawberries, frozen lemonade, ice cubes, and sugar into a blender; blend until fairly smooth. Pour into prepared glasses/cups.
  4. Cut fresh strawberries from tip almost to stem end; place on rim of glasses/cups for decoration. Place flamingo straw into glass/cup for finishing touch. Serve immediately. (You may also opt for cute flamingo shaped plastic cups found at your local dollar store or party store near luau section.) Makes 4 servings.

    For single “quick serve” version:
    *Combine a single lemonade juice box, ½ cup of fresh strawberries, 1 ½ cups ice cubes, 1 teaspoon sugar into single serve blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into bright pink plastic flamingo cups or sugared-rim prepared glass/cup, add decorative straw, slice or two of fresh strawberries as a garnish, and enjoy!
